Pain

By Tabonga Chabinga Mmanga

There is pain in the village
Pain that full of desperateness
Pain that has ushered to hopelessness
There is need of that which can heal the mind

There is pain in my neighbour’s house
Pain that has engulfed the brain
Pain which colonises the mind
There is need of that which can say, I understand

There is pain in the school
Pain of no teaching and learning
Pain which destroys the mental state
There is need of that which can put it all together

There is pain in the market store
Pain that there is no customer
Pain which rips out the muscles
There is need ofthat which can sooth the heart

There is pain in the clubs, bars, gym,
Pain that there is no patronage
Pain which eats the flesh
There is pain near and far

There is pain everywhere
creator of heaven and earth
and He who is seated at the right hand…
there is need for more of you
