2020 Open Call , Poems - Osedebamen Oamen,
Benin City
By Dr.Osedebamen Oamen,
Benin City,
        a conurbation of childhood acquaintances
        the dwelling of exotic culture
that speaks African arts in street shops
artworks of esoteric contest and eminence
Benin City,
whose art worth invites visitors to come
        and see grandeurs aesthetical treasure
that amazed even empty pouch customers
induced to buy with their eyes art memorable
 Benin City,
base of artifacts holding trusts for Africans
        frightfully abandoned with dashed hope
where are the arts shops in Mission boulevard?
where are the arts stores in Airport thoroughfare?
Benin City,
I gun art stores shrinks as eye lashes twinkles
the streets and shops in new form and shape
with Eurocentric fashion that speaks for West
let’s espouse our treasures to redeem our past.
