Open 2021 Poems - Helga Gruendler-Schierloh

Giving Romance a Chance

By Helga Gruendler-Schierloh

I am elated
and hesitant
about the road ahead.
Therefore,
my innate
need for happiness
is driving
me forward
to find the courage
needed to
once again
give romance a chance.

Another Chance

Another day to grow and learn,
another chance to hope and yearn
for a way to spread your wings,
to soar high and capture things
that are lighting up your mind.

Do not let others take the lead
in the search for what you need.
Allow your goals to set you free,
to be what you are meant to be.
What you desire is yours to find
