Open 2025 Poems - Peri Worrell

Hurricane’s Hymn
By Peri Worrell

All spaces within me
expand to receive this breath
this billowing raiment this mantle

My sail unfurls to lift and propel
me forward horizon bound
to all horizons at once

Destiny destination
desire cleaving holy water
centrifugal force centripetal peace

Heart’s longing the eye’s
ineffable gravity implacable time
windstorm on the sea

The Deep foreseen
