The Awakening

Eyes wide shut once innocence is gone.
Awareness is the burden of the light.
Still the weight of darkness both outside and within
keeps us small and steals our faith.

 

A human heart shatters,
graced together by bubble gum,
gifted scotch tape, hope and promises
band-aiding a life of pain.

 

Rinse and repeat
the fight until the death.

Interspersed with moments of real love ~
showering innocence anew.
And then the body weeps
the Divine mending of the soul returning Home
