Vasant 2025 Poems - Anusha. U

Passenger
By Anusha. U

I promise myself; not to speak anything more
but to act calmer.
Here I am at the railway junction
not knowing where to go.
The rickshaw driver urges me to get inside,
But dear, I do not have a place to go.
The buses pass my standing point.
They feel like a waiting shed with no passengers.

A crow perches into a elm tree
looks desperately at me.
The shopkeeper eagerly looking,
his groceries needed to be sold.
Do I look like a customer brother?
Taxis run thither and hither
unnoticing my existence.
Some cyclists give me a cold look.
No two wheelers stop by my side.

Yes I am calmer now.
I can take my step now.
But
Where can I go?
The universal dilemma of existence
surging into whole realm
now gets into my survival.
I am a passenger
with nowhere to go.
