over Capel St. it's 8pm Friday – the porn
shop next door
is doing a very brisk
trade. lot of young couples and large
groups of giggling girls. anyway:
Aodhan’s just told me
he's knocked Julianne up
after just around 3 months
of marriage. he's anxious.

Jesus I tell him. so right
around Christmas? weren't you down
with her parents?

 

A correspondence

he was very excited;
described it as Creating
Correspondence.
I was living alone
in the north London
suburbs, and he
was in Paris,
and living Parisian
life. I went along with it – hell,
what else to do?
we exchanged a few letters.
I remember my first
one – just words
for my room, and his
much the same then
as mine was. we were dull,
early 20s boys,
imagining writers.
I think that was the purpose;
that one day biographers
would piece out our scratching
opinions. I even kept his
for a short while
in boxes. moved them
with objects
and shirts
to new flats.

 

DS Maolalai from Ireland has been described by one editor as "a cosmopolitan poet" and another as "prolific, bordering on incontinent".
