Vasant 2025 Poems - Elizabeth Towers
skeletons
By Elizabeth Towers
there are skeletons
in your closet
but don't worry, we all have those
so what are you doing
sifting through rubble and bones?
searching for answers that nobody knows
you're covered in dirt now, it's time to go home
clean yourself off
and try to rest
tomorrow you'll see, it was all for the best
to bury the secrets, amongst dust and ash
take them to your grave now,
they're all you have left
answers are for the living
but you're one of the dead
.
