Petrichor

A rain drop escapes its cumulus clutch
blushes in the first kiss and your warm touch.

A heart wrapped in immortal desire
croons the rhyme and rhythm of wild love.

A seed is reborn in the soul of a poet
and yearns to be with the remains of you.

A bird from the Eastern skies builds its home
with a twig picked from your lap.
The unrestrained rivers emanating from your bosom
learn to follow the rules of the land.

When the night dances to your glories
the dawn sings from within you.
Emerald shoots smile and relate
the night spent with you.

I was born from you
and would merge into you…
